Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 May 2026
Plain English. We're an indie project — these terms exist so neither of us gets surprised. Read in 3 minutes.
1. What MemeHunt is
A free hidden-object micro-game played in your web browser. You upload a photo, we secretly composite a meme into it, generate a sharable link. Friends open the link and tap where they think the meme is hiding. That's it. No accounts, no friend lists, no chats, no DMs, no ads, no in-app purchases.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13. If 13–18 (or below age of majority where you live), you confirm a parent / guardian is OK with your use.
3. Your photos
When you upload a photo:
- You keep all rights. We don't claim ownership.
- You grant us a limited license to store the photo, generate a composite, and serve the composite to people who open your share link — only while we store your photo (max 30 days, see §4).
- You confirm: (a) you have the right to use this photo, (b) no minors are identifiable in it, (c) no nudity or sexual content, (d) nothing you don't have permission to publish (other people, copyrighted artwork, etc.).
4. Photo retention
- Originals auto-delete after 30 days
- Composites auto-delete after 30 days
- Delete any puzzle anytime via the share-link footer "Delete" — immediate
- After 30 days the share link shows "this drop has retired"
5. Meme library
MemeHunt ships with memes from:
- Wild Boar and Chicken Production originals (we own these)
- Community/folk-art memes (rage comics, etc) used under fair use in transformative puzzle context — no monetization, no resale, no merchandising
- Public-domain / Creative-Commons memes with attribution where required
If you are a rights-holder and believe your meme should not appear here, email hello@memehunt.app — we remove it within 48 hours, no questions.
"Collecting" a meme card = it lives in your local browser as a record of the find. Not transferable, not resellable, not a digital asset. It's a tally mark.
6. Things you cannot do
- Upload photos that violate §3 (minors, nudity, illegal content, content you don't own)
- Use MemeHunt to harass, doxx, defame, or target anyone
- Try to cheat (script taps, reverse-engineer the hit zone, share solutions)
- Bypass rate limits or anti-abuse measures
- Scrape, mass-download, or build a competing product from our APIs
Violators get sessions/IPs blocked at our discretion. We do this manually for clear cases, no warning required.
7. Reports and takedowns
Every puzzle has a "Report" link. 2+ independent reports → auto-takedown within 24h pending review. False reports may block your session.
DMCA-style copyright takedowns: email hello@memehunt.app with (a) the work, (b) infringing URL, (c) your contact, (d) good-faith statement, (e) accuracy statement under penalty of perjury. Response within 5 business days.
8. No warranty, no guarantee
MemeHunt is offered as-is. We make zero guarantee of uptime, puzzle persistence, or local-stash survival across browser updates / cache clears / device changes. Back up nothing in MemeHunt. It's a toy.
Because there are no accounts (unless you opt-in via magic-link email save), we cannot recover lost stashes, restore deleted puzzles, or verify identity for disputes.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law: we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunity, or goodwill, arising from your use of MemeHunt. Our maximum cumulative liability to you is $1 USD. We charge nothing for the service.
This doesn't limit liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct where the law forbids such limitation.
10. Changes
Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page with a "Last updated" date and a one-paragraph summary. Because you have no account, we cannot email you. Check back occasionally.
11. Governing law
Laws of Poland. Disputes resolved in Polish courts of the operator's jurisdiction.
